Wave One Sports is the leader in custom team sports apparel.  Wave One Sports has been satisfying our customer’s custom team sports apparel needs since 1988.  We are closing in on 30 years of making our customers happy.  While our dedication to providing the finest quality products, superior service and fair prices has remained constant, most every other aspect of our business continues to change with greater and greater frequency.

Summer Lacrosse is one of those aspects that has changed significantly over the past 10 years.  In the early to mid-2000’s there were limited options for youth and high school lacrosse players to play lacrosse after the traditional spring lacrosse season ended.  Sure, there were lacrosse recruiting camps and lacrosse clinics but the opportunities and the demand for these were both relatively small.  Then during the second half of that decade youth, high school and college lacrosse began to grow at a rapid pace.  The numbers of youth players participating in township spring lacrosse teams and leagues began to swell.  Many local programs were faced with numbers they could not accommodate.  The small number of “summer” clubs took notice of this and began to expand their programs.  New summer clubs began to sprout up not only in the traditional lacrosse hotbeds of Maryland, Long Island, Upstate New York and Philadelphia but in many other areas around the US.

New summer lacrosse clubs and summer lacrosse programs created new opportunities for lacrosse apparel and equipment manufacturers and suppliers.  Wave One Sports’ lacrosse uniform and practice gear business grew from a mostly late fall, winter and early spring peak cycle to include late spring and early summer.

An interesting aspect of Summer Lacrosse Uniforms is the lack of design regulations and restrictions that limit creativity of most high school and college uniforms.  Consequently, summer lacrosse uniforms can be more colorful, and incorporate some wild graphics and logos.  Sponsor logos and team mascots are frequently featured more prominently as well as multiple color combinations.

Summer weather also influences the construction and design of summer lacrosse uniforms.  With the warmer temperatures, many teams opt for reversible tank style lacrosse jerseys made from lighter weight technical fabrics.  These relaxed design restrictions and the moisture control fabrics allow summer lacrosse  players to not only look cool but also play cool without the weight and heat of traditional short sleeve jerseys.  Most summer lacrosse uniforms are sublimated with the designs being dyed into the fabric, eliminating additional weight normally found with printed and tackle twilled uniforms.

As spring lacrosse begins to wind down, summer lacrosse heats up.  Please contact Wave One Sports for your Summer Lacrosse Uniforms.
